Punky Duero has over 15 years of professional experience in the security industry both information security and physical security. He is a code nerd and dabbles occasionally in software development and database architecture whenever the need arises from his clients.
He held titles Principal consultant, CTO, Sr. Director of Engineering to support organizations provide security and network solutions for corporations like Sony, Panasonic, Red Bull, Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles Clippers, USC, Ticket Master, Fandango some Government agencies.
He also joined ICANN, the organization that helps ensure only a single Internet exists in the world. During his tenure as Cryptographic Key Manager, he co-authored and helped maintain technical publications that govern the global DNS top-level cryptographic operations. He also became one of the Subject Matter Experts for Third Party Oversight and Key Management Operations for the Policy Management Authority.
Throughout the years, he provided lectures on security conferences like Defcon, NANOG – North America Internet Service Providers Network Operating Group and ISC West.
Punky is Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ISACA Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM) and GIAC Security Leadership Certified (GSLC). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Mapúa University Philippines and received Cybersecurity Certificate from the University of California Los Angeles. He also received master certifications from security system manufacturers such as Lenel, AMAG, Avigilon, Schlage SMS and S2.
